Watch out for seizures within the first few days ^a

Why?

• 2.4% of patients with a first stroke will have a seizure within 48 hours (95% CI: 1.5% to 3.2%) b
• 6.1% of patients with an ischaemic stroke will have seizures within the first week (95% CI: 4.1% to 8.2%). ^b
• 1.5% of patients develop status epilepticus. (95% CI: 0.77% to 2.1%)  ^b
