Deterioration

The risk of early deterioration following an intracranial haemorrhage is increased with a

  • ventricular extension
  • intracerebral haemorrhage volume ≥ 30 cm³ 

Why?

Ventricular extension and a large bleed increase the risk of deterioration within 24 hours
