Note:

  • Filgrastim does not clearly reduce death or development of organ failure or empyema compared with placebo. d
  • Policies to determine when to switch patients with community-acquired pneumonia from parenteral to oral antibiotics and when to discharge these patients may help reduce length of hospital stay. However these policies are not clearly as safe as standard care. d
