Note:

  • 1.1% of patients given thrombolysis will have a stroke (95% CI: 0.99% to 1.3%) b
  • The risk of stroke is increased with b
    • severe hypertension
    • increasing age
    • heart failure
    • use of alteplase
    • an anterior myocardial infarction

Severe hypertension, increasing age, and heart failure increase the risk of a stroke post-thrombolysis
