Severe anaphylaxis is rare c, but can be fatal. c

  • Severe anaphylaxis occurred in one in 5500 of a cohort of patients from Europe and India c , and one in 6300 of patients attending a UK emergency department c
  • Fatalities are rare: 0.3% (95% CI 0.0% to 0.7%) in outpatient attendees c to 7.4% (95% CI 0.0% to 17%) 'ambulance' service c
