Late complications are uncommon, and are usually minor and transient, but are more common in patients who lose consciousness initially. b

Note:

  • A third of patients still have minor symptoms after 1 month. b
  • Most patients with delayed neurological sequelae recover within a month, and many can continue normal daily activity in the meantime. b
  • There is no good evidence to support long-term neuropsychiatric testing. b
